Micro Switch With Fire Extinguishing System

Micro Switch With Fire Extinguishing System

When installing a new hood and exhaust system in a kitchen or retrofitting an existing one, a fire suppression system must be implemented.

There is always a fire risk in a kitchen where heating elements are used. When a fire occurs, the suppression system detects the fire. It sends a signal to micro switches to cut off the power to the heating elements and the air intake while leaving the exhaust running to help eliminate smoke and fumes.

Use a magnetic or electronic starter motor relay box.

Use a magnetic or electronic starter motor relay box when using micro switches to control the shutdown of electric systems. Individual appliances have a higher amp rating than the amp rating. Relaying the appliances through a starter box allows the amperage to adjust the switches.

Connect the designated on/off control terminals on the starter motor box to the normally closed (NC) microswitch terminals using a low-voltage cable. Strip the end of the cable and screw the wire on the microswitch terminal. Two microswitches are installed in the box. Additional switches are stackable and can be added without additional mounting tools. Reset the microswitch panel after a fire.

When a fire is detected, and the customarily closed microswitch opens, shutting down the power, it does not come back on until it is manually reset.
